About the Littlejohn Family

In July of 2012, we were involved in a car accident and our 2-year-old daughter Megan was tragically killed.   The following weeks and months were very difficult for our family and we received amazing support from friends, family, and organizations in Northeast Ohio that helped us begin to heal and move forward into our “new normal”.  

We very quickly realized that we wanted to honor our daughter’s memory and also help other families going through similar tragedies. 

​And the Megan Littlejohn Foundation was born.



Our Mission:

Assisting children and families of children who have been tragically killed in accidents by providing therapeutic games, books, toys, and art supplies to child life specialists, psychologists and grief counselors.
 
Proceeds from our fundraising efforts are used to buy much-needed art supplies for the Child Life Department at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and for the Art Therapists at Cornerstone of Hope Grief Counseling Center.

About Rainbow Babies Child Life Department:
The Family and Child Life Services Department is the home to many different disciplines who work together to provide the highest quality care including Child Life Specialists, Tutors, and Art and Music Therapists.   The Child Life Specialists work in many areas of the hospital such as the Emergency Department, patient rooms, surgical areas, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and are specially trained to help children and their families understand and manage the hospital experience.

About Cornerstone of Hope:
Cornerstone of Hope is a grief counseling center in Independence supporting grieving children, teens, and adults.  They are guided by Christen values of compassion and service and they welcome and serve all seeking support.
